As an American traveling through Russia, getting my phone set up with a local SIM card can sometimes be a real headache, especially when there’s a language barrier. I visited the MTS store on Morskoy Prospekt, 70 in Severodvinsk, and I have to say, it was a surprisingly decent experience! The Good: Quick and Helpful The store is in a good, accessible location. When I walked in, I was helped almost immediately. The associate I spoke with (I wish I had gotten his name!) was incredibly patient. He didn't speak much English, and my Russian is, well, terrible. But he used a translation app on his phone, pointed at key terms, and managed to explain the different data plans very clearly. We got the SIM registered and activated in about 15 minutes, which is lightning fast compared to what I've dealt with in other countries. The service itself was efficient and the staff clearly knew their procedures.
